Runes play a crucial role in gameplay, as players need different setups and optimal choices for all champions. With Patch 14.10, Riot aims to provide better options by changing the current system. As a result, several will be removed from the game. Here are the list of runes being removed:

Many of these Runes are being removed because they are considered niche choices. For example, Predator and Minion Dematerializer are not widely used. However, the removal of Lethal Tempo is different. Riot has decided to remove Lethal Tempo because it disrupts the item system and allows champions to gain Attack Speed without needing Attack Speed items.

In addition to these removals, some Runes will be directly replaced or reworked under new names. Riot is also making significant changes to existing ones to fill in the gaps left by the removed ones. Overall, these changes will lead to a shift in players’ choices moving forward.
