The 2024 League of Legends World Championship, commonly known as Worlds, is currently underway, and for the first time in years, professional players are competing on the same patch as the regular community.
Riot Games made significant changes in this patch to shake up the meta, create fresh interactions, and introduce more variety to the game during the biggest event of the year.
However, shortly after the release, Riot had to roll out a micropatch to fix certain issues. Champions like Corki, K’Sante, and Tristana, who had been very dominant in pro play, were heavily nerfed.
These changes were meant to balance the game for professionals, but they had unintended effects on casual play, significantly reducing the performance of these champions. For instance, K’Sante’s win rate dropped sharply, sinking to nearly 44%.
Riot Phroxzon, one of the game designers, acknowledged that there’s been an increase in “time to kill,” meaning the overall lethality in the game has decreased. While Riot is currently monitoring these changes and evaluating how players are optimizing their builds, they are holding off on more adjustments for the time being.
League of Legends micropatch 14.19
Corki
- Q damage: 70 – 250 ⇒ 70 – 270
- E damage: 100 – 280 ⇒ 100 – 300
K’Sante
- Armor: 33 ⇒ 36
- Q damage: 70 – 190 + 35% resists ⇒ 80 – 200 + 40% resists
- W stun: 0.5 – 1.5 seconds ⇒ 0.5 ⇒ 1.75 seconds
- E shield: 50 – 250 + 10% bonus HP ⇒ 80 – 240 + 15% bonus HP
Tristana
- Passive range: 0 – 125 ⇒ 0 -150
- Q mana: 50 ⇒ 30 – 50
- W mana: 50 ⇒ 30 – 50
- W AD ratio: 0.75 ⇒ 1.0
Amumu
- W base damage per second: 14 ⇒ 10
- E base damage: 65 – 205 ⇒ 65 – 185
In the micropatch, Corki, K’Sante, and Tristana received buffs to counteract the earlier nerfs. However, Amumu faced another round of nerfs, leaving him in a weaker state.
Both Corki and Tristana had previously been nerfed in earlier patches, with Tristana currently facing a bug where one of her abilities does not match her intended range. These micropatch adjustments are already live, allowing players to experience the updated gameplay immediately.
