LoL players criticized ‘horrible’ experience in the new play mode

The League of Legends community is currently in an uproar over what many players are deeming a terrible user experience in the recently introduced Quick Play game mode.

While League of Legends caters to a diverse player base with various game modes, including the highly competitive ranked mode, Riot Games has sought to provide more casual options with unranked alternatives. Among these, Quick Play and Draft Pick stand out, sharing similar in-game functionalities but differing in their character selection processes.

Quick Play, the newest mode to League of Legends, is positioned as the most laid-back option within the game. However, despite its intended casual appeal, players have voiced their dissatisfaction with its implementation, describing the user experience as “terrible.”

Quick Play took the place of Blind Pick, a mode where players were unable to see the enemy team’s selections, eliminating the strategic element of planning around opponents’ team comps. Quick Play allows players to pre-select their champion, role, skin, and runes, streamlining the Champion Select process for a more casual-friendly experience.

Criticism has centered on the user experience of Quick Play, particularly in the realm of selecting and customizing loadouts, with players expressing that the current state leaves “much to be desired.” Numerous comments have emerged, highlighting issues such as missing Mythic chromas, incorrect Summoner Spells, and rune resets, contributing to player frustration.

Given that Quick Play is still a relatively recent addition, it is plausible that Riot Games is actively testing and refining the mode behind the scenes. This suggests the possibility of positive changes being implemented in the near future, addressing the community’s concerns and enhancing the overall user experience of Quick Play.

As players eagerly await improvements, it remains to be seen how Riot Games will respond to the feedback and iteratively enhance this new game mode.
