YouTuber Yaegerlol received massive backlashed from the community after throwing every single game and then striking a massive win streak in his “Iron to Diamond” series
Smurfing is a very popular trend in League of Legends. It’s simpler than ever to get a fresh account and start playing matches thanks to websites that aggressively offer Level 30 accounts.
However, a lot of these accounts eventually become levelled by bots and marked for cancellation. So, YouTuber Yeagerlol played on an account that threw over 40 matches with a less than 10% win rate before instantly shooting up to a 90% win rate with Yone in order to finish a YouTube challenge “Iron to Diamond” series.
Massive backlashes from LoL community with Youtuber “Iron to Diamond” series
One person may quite easily throw the entire match if everyone in the queue is giving it their all. And not everyone is good at League, so low win rates are common to see.
However, something is obviously going on when an account swings from having a 10% win rate to winning practically all of the matches with 1 champion, Yone.
VaporaDark, a content creator, exposed the account with evidence on LoL Reddit, demonstrating the name match history that corresponds with the account used in Yeager’s videos. It is hard to dispute that these accounts are identical given the usage of that name in Yeager’s “Iron to Diamond” series, which has multiple episodes on his channel.
The League community is still angry that someone is harming the game, even though it’s possible that he didn’t throw every game himself and simply bought it.
VaporaDark has also been under fire for this type of content, however he has subsequently opposed the “Iron to Diamond” series and anything similar where players purposefully utilise deranked accounts for their videos or streams.
Even if content creators aren’t deliberately throwing matches all the time, events like this have players concerned about the state of League’s solo queue at all tiers.
