The new deathmatch Arena game mode in League of Legends hasn’t even hit live yet, but it’s already providing some great moments for players to love and hate
A certain champion combination is already being hailed as one of the strongest in the new Arena game mode.
Combining two champions with one of the mode’s new special Augments produces unexpected effects.
In a famous video on League’s subreddit about the new Arena game mode, two players choose Ivern and Annie as their champions before facing three other teams. Things start slowly for the two, but things pick up when they obtain the Prismatic Augment named Ultimate Revolution.
Ultimate Revolution is an Augment that allows players to cast their ult again after they have already cast it.
This means Ivern and Annie may call two buddies apiece and swarm the battlefield.
Ivern uses two ults to summon a pair of Daisys in the video. Annie can charge and drop in her own pairing of Tibbers’ thanks to the shields and subsequent crowd control.
The unexpected combination holds their opponents at bay, with Tibbers tanking and burning and the Daisys running damage while Ivern and Annie provide insane crowd control.
While this champion combo destroys these specific opponents, it is far from a guaranteed win. Players can still utilise their own spells, items, or Augments to negate CCs and kite specific targets to make them less dangerous.
For example, you may use different spell shield skills, items, or Augments to keep any CC out while kiting and isolating each pet to kill them one by one. You’ll also need exceptional mobility to avoid being stunned or rooted by Ivern or Annie, but the main goal is to kite away and take care of Tibbers and Daisy first.
LoL’s Arena game mode is presently available for testing in the game’s PBE servers. As the debut date approaches, player reactions to the new style of play have been overwhelmingly favourable. It will go live on July 20 in conjunction with the next patch 13.14.
