One of the most well-known and best players in LoL’s history is taking a step back from the game
Jeong “Dopa” Sang-gil, a notable solo queue player, revealed on August 20 that he was taking a break to do his required military duty.
Dopa indicated in a statement that he will enrol as an active-duty soldier on August 21. Although he put down his LoL streaming career for the time being, he assured us that this isn’t a “forever goodbye,” and there’s a possibility we’ll see him dominate Summoner’s Rift once more in the future.
If you didn’t already know, Jeong “Dopa” Sang-gil, better known as “Apdo,” is regarded as the best LoL: League of Legends player to have never competed in the professional scene.
Dopa is a high-elo, diverse former League of Legends player who plays on the South Korean server. He was mostly a mid-laner but was renowned for playing all five roles as well.
Fans contrast him with Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, perhaps the greatest professional League of Legends player. Dopa’s extraordinary adaptability in a variety of areas has led some to assume he is the better player. Sadly, Dopa was never given the chance to compete in an offline League of Legends tournament as Faker was.
Due to his mechanical genius, he has consistently competed for the top positions on the Korean and Chinese servers, although he has never played professionally. He is also well known for being a renowned booster and has had several bans.
The Korean solo queue player should return after completing the required military duty, so this isn’t a definitive farewell. Since the programme typically lasts between 18 and 21 months, it’s probable that Dopa will return to livestream LoL once again in 2025.
