Mordekaiser’s Ultimate is Totally Imbalanced

Mordekaiser – The Master of Metal, is still one of the most played champions in Top lane in current meta. He is one of them for a reason.

Since his rework from the 9.12 Update Patch, Mordekaiser has attracted a lot of attention from LoL players, especially the Top laners.

Besides his ability to fight solo, his stability in landing phase, the Master of Metal also has one think that summoners love is his OP Ultimate – Realm of Death, that scares everyone in the enemy team.

Mordekaiser’s Realm of Death slows the targeted enemy champion by 75% for 0.5 seconds. If the target is still in range and targetable by the end of the duration, they’re banished together with Mordekaiser to the Death of Realm for 7 seconds.

For the same duration, Mordekaiser also reduces the target’s current attack damage, ability power, total attack speed, maximum health, armor, magic resist, and size by 10%, in addition to gaining them for himself. If Mordekaiser kills his target while inside, he keeps their partial stats until they respawn.
If one of the two affected champions leave the Death Realm, because of having died or having it dispelled, the other will do so as well, but the stats will remain stolen for the full duration.

These above are the reason why Mordekaiser becomes too strong.

Obviously, as a fighter, Mordekaiser is more than capable of taking down all the squishy champions from the enemy team like ADC or Mages. But the fact that he can steal the victim’s stats makes the fight with Mordekaiser unbalanced for the pitifully captured victim.

On Reddit, u/MaliciousMetal said: “In my honest opinion as a Mordekaiser enthusiast, the stat steal should be removed from the ultimate.

It simply promotes some very degenerative gameplay patterns where Mordekaiser simply starts running you down once he gets a point in his ultimate.

He should still gain some additional benefit to his R of course, but the buff should be more of a selfish stat buff that’ll increase his own stats by a certain amount rather than just sapping his foes.

I suggest giving him your usual 10-15% increase in his own core stats (Say armour, mr, hp, size, ap and ad) while fighting in his own domain.

Now, I Love the idea of Mordekaiser making his fallen foes strength his own, so the stat leech could technically be preserved in there as well. Allowing Mordekaiser to siphon a percentage of the enemy’s core stats upon their death rather than at the start of his ultimate.

He’ll still get rewarded by a lasting stat buff upon murdering them, but getting there would be tougher, which is exactly what Mordekaiser needs right now.

This excessive strength should definitely get toned down since it makes for very unsatisfying gameplay on both ends.

Morde just gets a stat buff and the enemy is just getting crippled by a whole 10% penalty on ALL their stats. It’s not very interesting in itself and serves to make him more obnoxious than he should be.”
