RNG is currently the only name that has the opportunity to equal the number of MSI championships’ record with SKT T1 (T1).
Recently, the first Semi-Final match of MSI 2021 ended without any surprises in terms of results. Royal Never Give Up defeated PSG Talon 3-1 to become the first name to participate in the Finals.
Although they could not create an earthquake in front of the defending champion of the LPL, the PSG Talon players still made the world’s League of Legends fans admire what they showed in this semi-final match. Not only stopping at 1 game, but throughout the match, the representative from PCS always performed a tit-for-tat game, not afraid to collide with a much stronger opponent.
The two most prominent names on the PSG side are “old man” Maple and gunner Doggo. With his experience in the LPL, the former Flash Wolves player has become the leader of PSG every year, helping this team keep up with RNG’s moves and tactical plans.
Meanwhile, despite being a player who was loaned to PSG at the last minute due to a personnel loss, Doggo showed incredible chemistry with his “new teammates.” It’s quite a pity for this guy when in game 4, there were many times when Doggo’s Tristana was fired, and who left only 1 – 2 normal auto attacks in situations of wiping RNG, but luck was not on the side of PSG.
As for RNG, after a few matches that were a bit off in the Melee Round, this team returned to its destructive form. Despite losing 1 game to PSG, this is still a relatively easy victory for the Chinese representative.
With the entry into the MSI 2021 Finals, RNG is the only team in MSI history up to this point that has the opportunity to equal SKT T1’s record of winning this tournament twice. Earlier in 2018, RNG was the next Chinese team after Edward Gaming to win the MSI championship.
On May 22, the remaining semi-finals between DWG KIA vs. MAD Lions will be held. If DK can win against the home team MAD Lions, then we will have an interesting reunion between Xiaohu and Khan – The names present in the MSI 2018 Finals, when Royal Never Give Up defeated KingZone DragonX with a score of 3-1.
