MSI 2023 to be hosted in London, UK – sources

Sources told esports-news.co.uk that MSI 2023 will be hosted in the capital city of the United Kingdom. This will mark the first time since 2015 that a major League of Legends tournament has been hosted in the misty country.

MSI 2023 will be the first major LoL event to take place in UK since 2015

Worlds 2015 quarter finals in Wembley Stadium has left lasting impression on UK and worldwide League of Legends fans. After 8 years it’s finally back! Though everything has not been set in stone, UK fans have reasons to start the hype.

The prestigious Mid-season Invitational is one of only 2 international LoL tournaments of the year with the top team from each region of Spring Split battling for supremacy. Reigning MSI champions are the LPL’s RNG Gaming after they narrowly overcame T1 3-2 last year. Will the Chinese retain the crown this year, or will LCK topple them like they so convincingly did at Worlds 2022?

The UK has a lot of suitable venues to host the event including Wembley, O2 Arena, not to mention various football stadiums across the cities. Birmingham had previously hosted several esports events like ESL One.

Iceland, Vietnam, Germany, Brazil, China and the US have previously hosted the event. Format change has been confirmed for this year’s MSI and Worlds.
