With phase 1 of Mythic Content Overhaul, gemstones and prestige points were converted into Mythic Essence, and phase 2 is close by with further adjustments to milestones and Masterwork chests
Riot revealed earlier this year in their Dev blog that the Mythic Content Overhaul will take place in three phases. Phase 1 has already begun, with the removal of prestige points and the transformation of gemstones into Mythic Essence. Players may now use Mythic Essence to purchase Prestige and Gemstone skins. Furthermore, old Gemstone and Prestige skins will be rotated in the mythic shop and may be purchased using Mythic Essence.
Phase 2 is expected to bring with it milestone rewards for capsules and masterwork chests and phase 3 will alter the event pass’s functionality and make it more comparable to a standard battle pass.
Mythic Content Overhaul phase 2
If you purchase capsules from the shop after phase 2, you will be able to achieve the milestones and gain extra prizes in addition to Mythic Essence. Unfortunately, there is no current information on the capsule milestone. However, Masterwork Chest Milestone is presently available on the PBE.
Previously, purchasing Masterwork Chests from the shop was the quickest way to obtain Prestige Points. With the new milestone system from Mythic Content, players can now earn currency much more quickly with each milestone they reach. The Masterwork Chest milestone awards are as follows:
- 5 Chests: 1 Skin Shard of any value & 5 Mythic Essence
- 10 Chests: 5 Mythic Essence
- 15 Chests: 1 Skin Shard of 975+ RP value & 5 Mythic Essence
- 20 Chests: 5 Mythic Essence
- 25 Chests: 1 Skin Shard of 1350+ RP value & 5 Mythic Essence
There are also event passes available in League, and if you buy one and finish all of the tasks, you will receive 25 Mythic Essence for free. However, in order to obtain additional Mythic Essence, you must unlock Masterwork chests. Masterwork Chests may be purchased from the client store at the following prices:
- 1 Masterwork Chest and Key: 225 RP
- 5 Masterwork Chest and Key: 1125 RP
- 10 Masterwork Chests and Keys + 1 Bonus set: 2250 RP
