How will the new Challenges work in League of Legends?

Riot Games has announced League of Legends Challenges, a fresh new achievement-based advancement system

Riot Games has confirmed that the new Challenges system will be available in time for the 2022 Mid-Season Invitational, after an announcement about the impending League of Legends Challenges release. In a press statement, Riot Games’ competitive team design head Jordan Checkman – or BarackProbama – stated that the system will be launched alongside the patch 12.9 update.

How will the new Challenges system work?

Challenges are shown as cards, with the number of points it will contribute to your total score.

The system will allow players to earn Achievement Points by completing any of the approximately 300 tasks accessible at launch. Furthermore, if a challenge is finished and rated up, players will receive additional benefits such as titles and tokens.

Each challenge will start at Iron rank and maybe progressed all the way to Challenger rank by finishing it several times – though each time you will be needed to complete more effort. For the Challenger level, only a limited number of players will be allowed to hold a Challenger-tier challenge at any given moment. As a result, players will need to maintain consistently in order to stay at the top.

5 main Challenges category includes:

Riot has announced that, in addition to the five major categories, there will be unique ‘Legacy’ challenges. These time-limited challenges will appear from time to time during significant events and can only be completed while they are active. Furthermore, Legacy tasks will not contribute to your total progress, and the tier cannot be leveled up.

In the lobby, players will also notice a Challenges ranking crystal appear beneath their Icon. Players will be able to pick 3 challenge tokens to show on their banner in addition to the Challenges crystal.

Unlocking titles is the last way to demonstrate your League of Legends Challenges progression. Titles are earned by completing various challenge milestones and are shown in the lobby beneath Summoner names.
