League of Legends: New Duskblade is Anti-fun – Players urge Riot to nerf it immediately

League of Legends players are enraged at the new Duskblade effect and have demanded that it be nerfed in the near future

Players recently complained about Duskblade of Draktharr and its new unique passive in a recent League of Legends Reddit thread.

When champions were taken down, the previous Duskblade passive granted them invisibility. It had a strong passive effect for assassin champions, allowing them to take out an important target and escape without dying.

However, the new Duskblade effect introduced in patch 13.10 makes champions untargetable and invulnerable to non-structures after scoring a takedown within three seconds after damaging an opponent champion. To give it a comparison, being invisible did not entail being untargetable or invulnerable. You might still be hit by enemy skill shots or silenced by AoE abilities.

Many players agreed with the overpowered effect, with one noting that if a champion goes untargetable for a second, it may be really frustrating.

Some players attempted to remain optimistic by pointing out that the future nerfs would undoubtedly be based on a large amount of data, given that the passive has been in the game for a month. Others, though, believe a nerf is impending and should be implemented as soon as possible.

One champion that can abuse this Duskblade effect is Miss Fortune with her channeled ultimate. Her ability is defined as an action that disrupts status effects like slumber, invulnerability, or untargetability. This is because it is a channelled ability, and if engaged before a takedown, it is not considered cast during the status effect.

For years, players have been moaning about champions with abilities like these, with Yuumi being the most frequently targeted. The choice to make the status effect that has caused so much consternation in the community as an item Mythic effect is intriguing to say the least.

The next League update, Patch 13.13, is scheduled to go live on June 28, with the expectation that Riot would consider modifying the Duskblade effect.
