Vigilant Wardstone is the new must-have item for Support for having an extra ward
In the new updates for League patch 11.11, Support has undergone some big changes related to the Vigilant Wardstone updates. Thanks to the recent upgrades to upgrade of the item, the formerly Wardstone vision item that no one bought is now highly gold efficient.
Riot Games claimed that this newly update item will operate similarly to Rabadon’s for Mage, Infinity Edge for ADC, and Gargoyle Stoneplate for Bruiser or Tank, all of which get stronger after acquiring a few other items.
Watchful Wardstone
- Total cost: 1100 gold
- Health: 150
- Ability Haste: 10
- Arcane Cache: This item can store up to 3 purchased Control Wards
- (Removed) Visions of Ixtal: Increase your Stealth Ward, Totem Ward, and Control Ward caps by 1
- (New) Upgrade: Upon reaching level 13 and completing the Support Quest, automatically upgrades into Vigilant Wardstone
Vigilant Wardstone
- Build path: Automatically upgrades from Watchful Wardstone
- Health: 150
- Ability Haste: 15
- Arcane Cache: This item can store up to 3 purchased Control Wards
- Visions of Ixtal: Increase your Stealth Ward, Totem Ward, and Control Ward caps by 1
- (New) Blessing of Ixtal: Vigilant Wardstone now increases ability power, ability haste, bonus attack damage, and bonus health by 12%
Not to mention, Stirring Wardstone has been totally deleted in patch 11.11, and the tier two to tier three Wardstone upgrade is now automatically triggered at level 13 when supports finish their quest.
According to Phreak’s analysis on his Youtube channel, after a support completes their Mythic and first Legendary item, the bonus stats from Blessing of Ixtal make Vigilant Wardstone 500 gold more efficient.
“This item is so good that it should be slightly meta-warping. I say that because getting a fourth ward is really, really, really good.”
Yet he also said that only after the item is upgraded, it shows its full potential, otherwise it is still completely useless much like the old Stirring Wardstone. So it’s best to stick with the 1,100 gold Watchful Wardstone until level 13 when you can purchase “the cheapest legendary item in the game”
