Patch 11.17: Akshan’s resurrecting mechanism will be hammered

Akshan has been receiving tons of updates since he was published, and he is going to be nerfed a bit in the upcoming patch.

In the approaching patch 11.17, the most noticeable change is obviously the nerf on the resurrecting mechanism of Akshan, which has been the main topic on forums for a long time. Particularly, this champion’s W has a passive allowing him to revive his allies by taking part in taking down Scoundrels – the ones who had killed his allies previously.

This also occurs if Akshan has been slained and the Scoundrel dies afterward (because of his other allies, Ignite, Red Buff, turrets,…). This “imbalance” point has made a risky thing happen so easily: just hit them once and your allies will be back!

As a result, in patch 11.17, Riot decide to increase the difficulty of this mechanism. Specifically, Akshan will need to be alive after the Scoundrel is slain. This change instantly receives a lot of agreements from the community, except for the Akshan mains.

There’s a time when Akshan became the lord of mid lane due to the extremely high damage and mobility from his E at the first levels. Combining with on-hit items, he is actually a nightmare with non-mobile champions. In the coming updates, its base damage is decreased, but the AD ratio rises from 10% to 17.5%, which means his late-game is more frightening.

Additionally, Comeuppance’s cooldown when stopped by CC will be reduced from 15 seconds to 5 seconds. As a result, if the opposing side can halt you in the middle of your R animation, this mechanic is further less harmful. Moreover, the bugs when using E under turrets will be cleared.

Patch 11.17 comes to live servers on August 25, let’s see if his win rate is going higher.
