Patch 12.1 will feature nerfs to Immortal Shieldbow and Eclipse

League of Legends patch 12.1 initial balancing adjustments are on their way. This time, Riot Games is aiming for 2 Mythic items Immortal Shieldbow, Eclipse along with 2 Legendary items Force of Nature and Wit’s End.

Season 12 sees the return of Riot Games developers to their normal League of Legends schedule, which means the customary two-week intervals. That implies the first Season 12 patch will be available on January 4th.

Riot has launched a major nerf to the Immortal Shieldbow, the item that provides a massive shield, in the most recent PBE server updates. Not only that but Eclipse was also nerfed as the cooldown increased.

Item changes in patch 12.1

Immortal Shieldbow

Eclipse

Force of Nature

Wit’s End

New build path:

Looking at the Immortal Shieldbow’s changes, we can see that its damage and defensive capabilities have been significantly reduced. 50 AD is too little for an item that may cost up to 3400 gold, making ADC players more likely to ignore it.

Meanwhile, champions that scale with the item such as Irelia, Yasuo, Yone,… will most likely continue to use this item. However, due to the above-mentioned nerfs, it is quite probable that Immortal Shieldbow will be replaced by another Mythic item.

Eclipse also sees small nerf to melee champions, increasing its passive cooldown from 6 to 8 seconds. Although it is not significant as the Immortal Shieldbow it can still bring some disadvantages in the laning phase.

The remaining changes to Force of Nature and Wit’s End are basically quite small and don’t affect much to the meta. For Wit’s End, this modification has little impact when it comes to finishing this item. The difference is only noticeable before buying Wit’s End since the Null-Magic Mantle only provides 25 magic resistance whereas the Negatron Cloak provides 50.

According to the patch schedule, players should expect these items change to go live on January 4th.
