Patch 12.1 Preview: Eclipse, Immortal Shieldbow, and Wit’s End nerfs

Patch 12.1 for League of Legends is already on its way, and it will feature adjustments during the preseason in preparation for the official 2022 season on January 7

Riot Phlox, the League game designer, offered a glimpse of what players can anticipate from Patch 12.1. Though there aren’t many new champions or items, this patch features the popular Teleport rework, which attempts to make the summoner spell significantly less effective in the early game.

The only champions mentioned as receiving buffs are Diana and Gangplank. Both have struggled to stay in the meta ever since the preseason with new items and runes, respectively, so a slight increase in power may make them more efficient.

Sona will likely be nerfed in this patch, owing to her efficacy when combined with Moonstone Renewer, as well as her “spamming” ability. Rek’Sai is also being put down with a nerf.

In terms of items, Eclipse, Immortal Shieldbow, and Wit’s End are all expected to be nerfed in patch 12.1 due to their effectiveness in allowing ADCs and assassins to do huge damage while taking little back. And, the new Legendary item Force of Nature has been buffed, making it a superior choice versus other tank items.

This patch 12.1 sees significant adjustments to Teleport, which is a mainstay for many top laners and mid laners. Players will now only be allowed to teleport to turrets during the first 14 minutes of the game, as previously announced. After 14 minutes, the spell will revert to its original form called “Unleashed Teleport”, allowing players to teleport to minions, structures, trinkets, wards…

New TP will have significant changes on the gameplay mechanic

Patch 12.1, League’s first patch of 2022, is likely to be released on live servers today, even though the full details of changes revealed is unknown. On January 7, 2022 season will go live for the first time.
