In a recent Reddit post, League of Legends player under the name of brahansbooks99 suggests an intriguing notion that Riot could investigate in order to better balance Viego along with his kit.
League players demand a Viego nerf on his Passive
The player pointed out that he isn’t forced to invest that much into damage when his team can get his resets for him, which allows him to build tanky, I.E Divine Sunderer, Steraks, Randuins. This allows him to get reset from his passive very easily without dealing much damage to the enemy so he doesn’t need to invest into a Full AD build to possess the corpse.
Additionally, the player suggested adding a nerf that requires him to deal a specific ratio of damage in order to possess the enemy corpse.
“If Viego is forced to deal a percentage of the target’s health to acquire their soul, the key issues fixed are thus:
- It creates greater incentive to build squishy as a reset champion of this caliber should want to do. This rewards reaction, decision and mechanical skill
- No more freebee resets in team fights where you’re barely doing anything yet accessing extreme power just for being there”
This causes League of Legends players to build more damage item on him, which is then channeled into weapons like Kraken Slayer and Blade of the Ruined King that will, of course, makes him a lot squishy in combat. Furthermore, in order to fully utilize his passive, the Viego player will need to be more engaged in team fights.
Today, Viego’s playstyle in both the early and late games has been hotly debated in the League of Legends community.
Getting his resets going can provide Viego with a significant advantage in team fights. It’s one of the reasons why League of Legends players prefer a Divine Sundered build on him over a more damaging build like Kraken Slayer into Blade of the Ruined King combo because Viego’s teammates can get that reset for him.
Riot still hasn’t mentioned anything about Viego but the champion can be a very difficult match-up in many rank levels, and a proposed nerf to his skills might help drastically.
