Players are demanding League champions to be cheaper for unlock

It might take a new League of Legends player forever to unlock all the champions in the game.

League of Legends’ biggest strength is that it is one of the most player-friendly MOBAs on the market right now. Its champions have a variety of themes, there are easy champions who may fit into a variety of team competitions, and the game’s standards are tight; players cannot play too freely and win easily. League of Legends, like many other popular MOBA games, requires you to unlock a character in order to play that character, and each week there will be a new set of free champions rotation for players who haven’t owned many champions to choose from each week.

While some games make it really difficult for a new player to unlock some champions, especially new and cool champions to the point of selling them at the price of 10$. League makes it much easier for new players to unlock new characters for their arsenal. In League of Legends, you can unlock Champions using a currency you can earn by playing the game (Blue essence) or another currency which you can buy with real-life money (Riot Points), it’s still not the best example of making it easy for players.

In this aspect of a MOBA game, all of Dota 2 characters are free right away the first time you log in to the game. Now, League is a totally different game and we love it for what it is, and it doesn’t need to make it look like any other game. But many players had to agree, the price is not as easy as it should be for beginners and non-hardcore players.

Then Riot releases the Hextech Crafting system in order to give their players an easy and free way to earn champions and skins in this game. The Hextech Crafting system may award players who have a Hextech Box and a Hextech Key with a champion card, a champion card is like a coupon for a certain champion – greatly reducing the amount of Blue Essence you need to unlock that champion. But the RNG is harsh, the chance of getting cards of the same champion is too high and there’s also a high chance that it is not the champion card that you want.

It also affects new players in quitting the game because besides having to deal with this huge load of items, abilities, and tactics (while getting flamed for playing bad) you probably can’t even play the champs you might want after trying them in the free rotation. This takes the fun out of the game for new players and even for those who have taken a long pause who can’t play the champions that they want. And let’s be real here, no sober fans would buy champions with RP.

There are many other games whose developers have fixed the problem, Riot Games solved this one themselves on Valorant. The first few agents are much easier to unlock compared to later ones, but since League has 156 champions and a meta rotation so this can’t be the way things can be fixed here.

We will have to trust Riot Games on this one but we believe when they solve this problem on League of Legends things will definitely be better if they ever want to solve it.
