With all the items’ adjustments in Preseason 2021, lots of champions desperately need some tweaks in order to remain their glory.
Recently, Riot Mark “Scruffy” Yetter – Lead Gameplay Designer for League of Legends posted on his own Twitter page some changes they are going to adjust for champions who are relied heavily on mana in the next Preseason 2021 in order to compensate for Sheen and multiple different items.
He shared: “Small preseason update. Sheen and a few other items are losing their mana components to open them up to new users. We’re adjusting the mana pools of champions that typically bought items that will no longer have mana on them.” All of these champs will have +20 mana per level: “Amumu, Camille, Cassiopeia, Cho’Gath, Corki, Darius, Ekko, Ezreal, Fiora, Fizz, Gangplank, Hecarim, Irelia, Jax, Kassadin, Malphite, Nasus, Ryze, Skarner, Sylas, Twisted Fate, Udyr, Vi, Viktor, Volibear, Wukong, Xin Zhao, Yorick, and Zilean.”
This is a really compulsory buff for any champions who are relying on mini mana items so much. They both remake Sheen and Rod of Ages mana bonus effect, making them cheaper but no longer provide mana. On the offense side, champions like Darius, Hecarim, Volibear, etc need an extra damage boost from Sheen will really miss it. Not to mention Kassadin, Anivia, or ZIlean, by losing Rod of Ages, they will lose half of their core item.
However, these changes in Preseason 2021 actually open up multiple ways to build your champions, especially when you are playing Lee Sin, Akali, or Gnar. In season 2020, if you build Sheen on these guys (even though it provides beefy damage in the early game), you might get reports. With the removal of Hextech Gunblade, you may see Akali running around with Sheen in Preseason 2021.
