In the upcoming League of Legends Patch 14.7, Nasus, the timeless titan of the top lane, is slated to receive a substantial buff aimed at reinforcing his identity as the late-game raidboss in League of Legends.
Lead gameplay designer Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison, in a comprehensive patch preview shared on Twitter, confirmed that adjustments to Nasus’s abilities are inbound, with a particular focus on enhancing his damage output and life-stealing capabilities.
Nasus buffs in LoL Patch 14.7
- P lifesteal increased from 11/16/21 percent to 12/18/24 percent.
- Q base damage increased from 30-110 to 40-120.
Nasus’s signature ability, Siphoning Strike, will undergo a damage increase across all levels of the skill, while his passive life steal from Soul Eater receives a significant buff, particularly accentuated in the mid to late stages of the game.
Phroxzon emphasized that while he remains relatively straightforward to pick up and play, he struggles to contend with the dominant presence of bruisers reigning supreme in the top lane meta.
The adjustments aim to fulfill the fantasy of Nasus as an unstoppable force in the later stages of a match, with his life-stealing potential reaching an impressive 24% at level 13—a notable surge from the previous 21%. Phroxzon clarified that these buffs are tailored to amplify Nasus’s prowess as a drain tank in the late game while also easing the threshold for last-hitting minions with his Q ability.
Despite Nasus maintaining a moderate level of popularity in Patch 14.6, as indicated by statistics from U.GG, his win rate has dipped slightly below the equilibrium, standing at 48.92%. While this doesn’t signal an immediate cause for concern, the champion finds himself struggling to keep pace with the likes of Maokai, or Zac, who currently dominate the top lane landscape.
This forthcoming adjustment marks the second significant increase to Nasus’s life-stealing capabilities in nine months, with Patch 13.12 also providing a 15% boost.
The lack of attention Nasus has received in recent updates, with the last significant change occurring in June’s 13.12 patch, likely contributed to his diminishing win rate. As matches tend to stretch longer, Riot Games recognizes that his scaling potential falls short of expectations.
With the anticipated changes in Patch 14.7, players eagerly anticipate his resurgence as a formidable pick on the Rift, hoping that these adjustments will reinvigorate interest in the champion and restore his prominence among Summoners’ Rift.
