Riot teases 2 upcoming VGU in League of Legends – one is from Arcane

Riot Games has exciting news for League of Legends players, revealing plans for VGU for 2 existing champions.

The VGU process involves a comprehensive rework of both a champion’s kit and visual elements, essentially transforming them into what feels like an entirely new character. The most recent example of this was seen with Udyr’s VGU.

The next champion slated for a VGU is Skarner. Despite initial challenges due to the complexity of Skarner’s base design, Riot has diligently worked on a complete overhaul, promising a fresh and revamped version of the champion on the Rift in the near future.

Arcane-relelated champion

In a recent dev log detailing the plans for Season 2024, Riot confirmed not just one, but two additional VGUs following Skarner. The first of the two is shrouded in mystery, with only a hint that it is somehow related to the popular Arcane series.

Further details on this champion’s changes and upgrades, both in terms of gameplay and design, are expected to be unveiled after the release of Arcane Season 2.

Could be Singed, considering how out-dated he is

Shyvana

Following the Arcane-related character, the second champion in line for a VGU is none other than Shyvana. Over time, Shyvana has experienced a decline in fluidity in terms of gameplay. As the Year of the Dragon unfolds, bringing forth more powerful dragons onto the Rift, Shyvana is set to receive a significant makeover.

Riot has offered a glimpse into Shyvana’s revamped appearance through shared concept art on January 5. The updated design features a more aggressive look, characterized by spiky hair and enhanced armor. While these visuals may evolve, they serve as a promising starting point for Shyvana’s transformation.

Her muscular physique now embodies the essence of a juggernaut, radiating formidable strength and indomitable power. Sharp claws, spiky horns, and what appears to be flames emanating from her hands and feet contribute to her overall imposing presence.

However, fans will need to be patience, as Shyvana’s VGU is not slated for release until 2025, following the completion of the Arcane-related champion’s VGU. The anticipation is building as League of Legends players eagerly await these transformative updates to their beloved champions.
