Riot add a new feature in patch 10.18, allowing players to set themselves as “free agents” for Clash

In League patch 10.18, Riot will add a new feature to League of legends that will let players to identify, find and queue with any other players who does not have a team in Clash.

Players can set themselves as “Free agents” in the Clash tab, and be shown to other who they have played with, friends or who they have won with that they are available and finding a team to fight in Clash.

For now, this feature is limited in further potential of enhancing Clash mode cause its still in beta stages, Riot devs also said they “want to ensure the quality of Clash is not sacrificed just to find more people.”

“The first iteration is intentionally very simple so we can build it in the right direction based off feedback and usage data,” Riot’s competitive gameplay lead Cody Germain said. “We expect this version to mostly help those teams with 4 players find a 5th when they have run out of options.”

There are situations where we lost our fourth or fifth members of the Clash team cause of unexpected reasons, last minute events or just an internet issues. Now we can find the missing team mates by using the “Free agents” feature before the lock-in-phase runs out.

If this feature work well in the next Clash tournament, Riot will consider bringing new updates and changes to improve players experience in the future.
