Ahri’s long-awaited updates are on the way
One of League of Legends’ most popular female champions will soon have substantial improvements to her in-game model, animations, and the look of her abilities.
Riot Games revealed earlier this year that Ahri will receive an art and sustainability update (ASU), but no further details have been provided to fans.
Riot Games revealed a sneak peek of Ahri’s new in-game model in their Pride Month teaser back in June, but that’s all there is to see. Riot Reav3, League’s lead producer of gameplay, revealed in a recent LoL Pls video that the update is still coming but has been delayed somewhat.
Reav3 revealed art showing the Nine-tailed Fox’s final basic appearance, replete with new and up-to-date attire, textures on her tails, and more.
The clip also showed off some of her new animations, like her idle posture, run, and new particles on her W. He did, however, mention that Ahri’s excess of skins has caused the developers to postpone her ASU release until early next year.
In early 2022, Ahri received a mid-scope update with Janna, with the goal of making her playstyle more noticeable rather than a combination of assassin/mage. With her almost unlimited dashes on her ultimate and self-healing, she has been a standard option in solo queue and professional tournaments all over the world since then.
It’s uncertain when Ahri’s ASU will be released, as no specific date was specified in today’s update video. Fans may anticipate her ASU to arrive in League sometime in early 2023.
