Riot is changing 9 LoL runes and players fear of what’s coming

New Rune changes are set to arrive to League of Legends in no time

League of Legends is gearing up for Patch 13.19 on live servers, with Riot Games planning substantial adjustments for an upcoming patch that aims to significantly weaken several runes.

As reported by Spideraxe, 9 runes, encompassing major and secondary runes, are in line for significant modifications. The affected runes include: Arcane Comet, Dark Harvest, Electrocute, First Strike, Fleet Footwork, Press the Attack, Summon Aery, Taste of Blood, and Waterwalking.

Waterwalking

The overarching goal of these changes is to dial back the potency of runes, transforming them into more of a nuanced choice rather than a dominant source of damage. As part of this adjustment, AP scalings will be toned down, preventing mages from effortlessly deleting opponents.

While players on Reddit express concerns about the impact on runes, it’s essential to note that the nerfs are widespread, reducing damage across the entire game, especially during the early stages. Notably, Conqueror and Lethal Tempo, perceived as significant contributors to the issue, remain unaffected.

Although Riot has not specified the release patch for these changes, speculation suggests they may be implemented in Patch 13.20.
