Riot will provide Clash refunds following the Clash break in the Shadow Isles Cup

The Shadow Isles Cup for League of Legends’ Clash game format was hampered by bugs, as some players were unable to participate or collect their awards

The Clash game mode in League of Legends is popular among players because it gives a truly competitive experience for everybody. It delivers a level of competition that most players cannot experience elsewhere. Many players devoted time, and in-game currency to compete in the latest Shadow Isles Cup, as they have in the past.

Unfortunately, the latest Clash event was filled with bugs, resulting in long queue times, no awards, and malfunctions everywhere.

Some players couldn’t even join since the game said they were already a member of one. Others were not rewarded after completing their brackets. This frustrated many players who were seeking higher-tier flags and rewards on the Cup’s final day.

Riot is aware of the issues, and developer Riot Brightmoon has promised compensation to players: “We are looking at addressing the root cause and will provide Clash refunds for those impacted.”

According to Riot Brightmoon’s Twitter post, the devs are only considering offering refunds and will not rerun the last two days of the Shadow Isles Cup on a separate weekend so players may try for their final rewards.

A refund in this situation would most likely take in the form of in-game currency like Blue Essence or Riot Points, given that is what players paid to enter.

The current Shadow Isles Cup incident is still being investigated. The Zaun Cup, the next Clash event in League of Legends, is set to take place on August 6 and 7.
