Servers are now active, and Riot is the official publisher of League of Legends and TFT in Southeast Asia
People from all around the world play League of Legends since it is one of the most popular video games available. Aside from the well-known Riot-controlled servers such as North America, Europe West, Europe Nordic, and Europe East, servers are also operated and managed by third-party companies. Garena had complete control over the SEA regions.
Now, as 2023 reaches, Riot has full control and can be its own publisher over SEA servers. To commemorate the occasion, Riot is providing a unique present to local players: all League champions released until 2021 will be available for free.
Free League champions for local players
Riot continues to release five new champions every year, bringing the total number of champions in League to more than 160. That is undoubtedly intimidating for someone just starting out in the game—or anyone who needs to switch servers and start again, as numerous SEA players have done.
Riot is throwing a welcome event for the SEA servers in order to involve both of those groups.
“Whether you are a new player or if you have recently migrated your Garena League account, you can look forward to a whole series of exciting welcome events and rewards that we have planned for you!”
In addition to the free champions, welcome tasks provide players with tokens and loot, while treasure tokens let them acquire Legendary and Ultimate League skins, as well as rare Little Legends for TFT. All of this applies solely to new SEA players that link their Garena accounts.
Local SEA servers are now available for users to check out, following the Riot-announced procedure that began with account linking in November 2022.
