In a recent interview with Dot Esports, champion product lead Lexi Gao shared insights into these speculations. The process of bringing champions over from the card game, however, is more intricate than it may appear. Gao explained that the team responsible for Legends of Runeterra evaluates champions from a card game perspective, making the translation into the dynamic and fast-paced environment of League of Legends.

Despite the complexity of this, Gao reassured players that the challenging journey is deemed worthwhile. It aligns with Riot’s overarching strategy to offer a cohesive and immersive experience across all their diverse gaming titles.
