The freshly reworked Yuumi is a little too powerful, as many League of Legends players predicted, so the devs are tuning down some of her abilities
According to Riot Phroxzon, lead designer on the Summoner’s Rift team for League, who clarified on Twitter that a hotfix nerf has been added for the champion as Yuumi’s Q max build is overperforming. This is only two days after her mini-rework was unveiled along with Patch 13.5, and in that brief time, she has amassed a win rate of nearly 50% and a ban rate of 30% in high elo.
Yuumi’s nerfs in hotfix Patch 13.5
- Emp Q Damage: 80-380 (+35%AP) >>> 80-355 (+35%AP)
- Slow: 55-80% >>> 50-65%
Damage from Yuumi’s empowered Q has been reduced from 380 damage at maximum rank to 355 damage. Additionally, the slow effect from this now has a 65 percent limit.
Phroxzon continued by saying that the team is looking at additional changes targeted at nerfing other facets of Yuumi’s kit because they are fully conscious that she was launched in an overly powerful state. He explicitly mentioned tuning the Best Friend mechanic connected to her passive and reducing the strength in her ultimate.
The hotfix mentioned above nerfs are now available in League’s live servers, and additional champion nerfs should be released to the game soon after these patch nerfs.
Since she entered the cast in 2019, Yuumi has undoubtedly been the most annoying champion to ever be introduced in League. Since then, her “unhealthy” gameplay—in which she is totally untargetable while giving her teammates enormous heals and damage buffs—has drawn criticism from many players. And it seems her latest rework still hasn’t addressed the issue yet.
