With the advent of the preseason in League of Legends, Riot Games is extending a unique opportunity to players, allowing them to directly influence the development of a new support item designed specifically for tanks.
This upcoming item, currently bearing known as “Go Fast with Friends,” is slated for release at the onset of the next year, coinciding with a sweeping overhaul of existing in-game items. Notably, Riot is not only seeking input on the name but also on the visual effects that the item will have.
League of Legends new item “Go Fast With Friends”
Disclosed in a recent blog post by the Summoner’s Rift team, the new support item is tailored to augment the out-of-combat mobility for tanks and their allies. While it shares some thematic parallels with the existing Shurelya’s Battlesong item, there are distinctive differences that set it apart.
As the holder moves, they gain bonus movement speed, extending the same benefit to allies in their wake. Introducing an intriguing mechanic like Dead Man’s Plate, the item features stacking; upon reaching maximum stacks, an attack on an enemy results in a slowing effect.
In its current developmental phase, Riot has yet to settle on a thematic design for the item. To engage the player community further in the creative process, three distinct themes, each representative of different locales within Runeterra, have been presented for a vote.
This marks a unique instance where players can directly influence not only the name but also the thematic elements of a significant in-game feature. Here are all of the themes that players can vote from.
Eerie Invitation
Trailblazer
Scout’s Fanfare
The voting process is seamlessly integrated into the League of Legends client. So, here are the 3 easy steps to vote for your favorite feature for the upcoming new item:
- Open League of Legends
- Navigate to the Overview Tab in the client
- Vote for your theme
The voting period is set to remain open until the imminent deadline on Friday, Oct. 6. Following the conclusion of this period, the chosen theme is anticipated to be seamlessly integrated into the preseason changes, with the patch slated for introduction to the PBE on November 20.
This collaborative approach underscores Riot Games’ commitment to engaging its player base in the creative evolution of the game, fostering a sense of community and shared ownership in the ongoing development of League of Legends.
