Both the cosmetic and gameplay components of Ahri are undergoing significant modifications
With patch 12.2 just arrive on the live server today, Riot Games is already planning ahead with patch 12.3, bringing Ahri a huge “refresh.” Riot announced this “mini-rework” earlier this month at the League team’s devs update.
According to a tweet from August Browning, Riot’s champion designer, Ahri’s updates would push towards her into being a mobile mage champion, all four of her skills, as well as her passive, will be modified.
The refresh will include modifications to the ultimate, Spirit Fire, which will include a reset mechanic as well as increased mobility for her. In addition, her passive, Essence Theft, is the most recognizable since it will be totally reworked.
Ahri’s passive in Patch 12.3 will let her gather “Essence Fragments” from minions and monsters. She will restore 40 to 120 health and gain 25% of her AP after collecting nine fragments.
