Riot reveals change to Rengar’s Ult and his leap mechanism

After almost a year of no balancing adjustments on the League of Legends live servers, Rengar, one of the game’s most popular assassin champions, is getting some attention.

Riot Captain revealed potential modifications to Rengar’s ultimate in a recent tweet earlier today. According to the post by League gameplay designer, the champion’s (R) Thrill of the Hunt, is up for some balancing modifications.

Giving off a screenshot of the ability’s suggested modified, if the proposed modifications are implemented, his ult will passively allow him to jump at enemies while being camouflaged, meaning that his existing passive that enables him to leap attack, would also be altered in some way.

Rengar’s change in the upcoming season

Furthermore, when triggered after one second as opposed to two seconds, Thrill of the Hunt (R) would “hide” him. Rengar would also receive True Sight of any surrounding champions, letting him see any enemies and assassinate them.

Rengar has been a possibility, for a significant balancing change for months, with Riot emphasizing the need early this year to make the champion more approachable to lower-ranked players. His Battle Cry (W) and Bola Strike (E) were both updated by Riot’s round of prospective modifications earlier in 2021.

His playstyle was also different ever since with the new Chemtech terrain in the preseason so Riot has been trying the best they can to bring back him to the Rift.

Riot has yet to provide a schedule for Rengar’s planned future modifications but players should expect this Ult change later this year or early next year.
