Riot has quietly buffed Kassadin in League of Legends, according to players.
Kassadin’s win rate has been progressively increasing over the last patch or two, and many are unsure why. As it turns out, he received a significant buff that was not mentioned in the patch notes.
Riot is continually changing the balance with buffs and nerfs in order to modify the meta to varied degrees.
League players have discovered, however, that a Kassadin buff was handed out in a recent patch that, while modified in-game, was not stated in the patch notes and has gone unnoticed for a month.
Kassadin secret buffs in League Patch 13.16
A LoL player saw that the AP ratios on the champion’s ultimate, Riftwalk, had been buffed from 40% to 60% in a discussion made earlier today on the League of Legends subreddit. However, the update was not included in the game’s most recent patch notes, implying that the buff is not intended to be in the game.
Kassadin is a League of Legends champion with a rocky background. It’s likely that the buff was either a mistake that wasn’t supposed to go live or that it was intended to but Riot just neglected to include his name in any publishing of their patch notes.
R – Riftwalk:
- Damage: 70/90/110 (+40% AP) >>> 70/90/110 (+60% AP).
It is a significant adjustment for such a spammable skill. Kassadin’s hidden buff have also aided the champion’s win rate.
According to LoL statistic site U.GG, his win rate increased somewhat in recent patches, rising from 49.95% in patch 13.14 to over 51.5% in patches 13.15 and patch 13.16. Given that information, it’s probable that these undocumented modifications have been in the game for at least 1 patch.
Players are uncertain of the nature of this buff and whether or not it was intentional or whether it was a byproduct of Riot testing buffs for the champ.
Hopefully, we won’t see any more of these hidden alterations very soon. This should help Kassadin as a champion, but the fact that no notice of these modifications was made is not liked by the players.
