Beginning July 14, a new affiliate product featuring Star Guardian content will be tested
This month-long test will run in North America, Brazil, Italy, and Germany to select content creators and esports organizations within these regions
Other regions will be able to participate in the future.
The affiliate product will allow partners to promote (SG) contents on their platforms of choice via a new Collections Page.
They will share a unique link to their Collections Page where players can shop directly without having to open the game client, and a portion of that purchase will go directly to the partner.
Additional info
- The product is still in development hence the small scale test. It will be launched more broadly once released.
- Partners will receive 5-10% of the revenue depending on the SG content.
- Tests will be run on a case by case basis, decided by Riot
- No eligibility requirement
- Partners that are involved must disclose that they’re participating in the test
- Consumers will not receive a discount via affiliate URL, the % revenue will go directly to the partner.
- Each partner will need to make at least $20 to receive a payout.
Overall it’s a nice way to support content creators and market the new Star Guardian skinline. In the future this might become the main way to purchase all Riot contents, given its convenience of not having to open the game clients, although the recent RP price hike might discourage some from making any purchases if at all.
The test runs from July 14 to August 9.
