Despite internal conflict rumors, Faker dedicated himself to stick with T1, at least during the 2021 season.
In a recent online interview with FOMOS, Lee “Faker” Sanghyeok revealed that he has a number of differences in viewpoint with T1 head coach Daeny. Daeny’s team-building orientation is far from his vision, which makes it difficult for him to approach the new season.
Then multiplies of reputable Chinese newspapers instantly reported “Faker considered leaving T1 due to disagreement with the coach.” The story was only in the “reasoning and questioning” category initially but it has turned into a false rumor.
In fact, during the FOMOS interview, Faker emphasized that he was trying to match his vision with the coach’s approach. Movement – Former reporter of Inven Global, also confirmed that: “He is not the kind of kid who would say things to that extend…” (Korean fans believe it is regarding Faker’s interview, but this is just a guess.)
However, when the incident went too far that Faker was forced to adopt a statement from T1 to announce: “It is very normal to not share a common opinion, I hope the fans can trust our team.”
In addition, according to the Demon King, while T1 is underperforming, he nevertheless aims to win championship titles with this team till now, since the championship is the only way to let him prove that age does not affect a player’s skills, performance and aspirations.
It can be seen that, even though there is an internal conflict, Faker himself does not have many reasons to leave T1. From a close relationship, long-term attachment, to the highest remuneration in the world of Esports. No one can foresee the future, but Faker is expected to stay with T1 at least until the end of this season.
