More champions are revealed to take part in the upcoming Sentinels of Light skin line.
Recently, an unknown artwork about the Sentinels of Light, which are set to be released with League of Legends’ next major event has been leaked all over the community. The artwork showing Lucian, Senna, Gwen, and the already known members of the Sentinels of Light skin line that has been revealed previously: Fiora, Diana, Irelia, Olaf, with even more surprising champions on the team: Pyke, Graves, Rengar, and the newest champion – Akshan. The artwork shows what looks very similar to an important meeting before their next battle against Viego and the great Ruination that has taken over the world of Runeterra.
Following the given artwork, we can see that all of the champions represent major regions of Runeterra:
- Demacia: Lucian, Senna and Vayne
- Bilgewater: Pyke, Graves
- Ionia: Irelia
- Targon: Diana
- Freijord: Olaf
- Camavor: Gwen
- Ixtal: Rengar
- Noxus/Ionia: Riven
- Shurima: Akshan
While the team has almost all of the regions in the game, there are still several major regions that haven’t taken part in the Sentinels of Light formation:
- Piltover / Zaun
- Bandle City
However, Riot had already teased that a “gloomy yordle” will soon be released, this champion can be considered as the representer of Bandle City, leaving Piltover/Zaun as the only major region without a member in the team for the upcoming event.
Evidence about the accuracy of this artwork can also be found in Sentinels of Light Vayne’s voice line, which is now posted on SkinSpotlights. The voice line included and further confirmed the appearance of Graves, Pyke on the team, while Rengar and Akshan are not found in Vayne’s special interactions.
To summarize, we can expect the Sentinels of Light skins to be released for the second time, with the introduction of Akshan (default skin) and three additional members, Graves, Pyke, and Rengar.
It’s quite interesting that all three new Sentinels of Light members are champions with “anti-hero” plots; they aren’t exactly heroes fighting for justice, but they presumably join the team for a variety of reasons: enlightenment, personal purposes, or fighting against a shared nemesis…
The Sentinels of Light are considered to have a pattern similar to The Avengers of the Marvel universe, but the Western gaming community believes that the team’s image is quite similar to King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table.
The most significant point, however, is that the new information about this guild validates the scope of the Great Ruination event since it reveals that this will be an event that impacts the whole League of Legends plot universe.
