Vietnamese Streamer is investigated for mocking political leaders on stream

Authorities in Vietnam are looking into a game streamer who allegedly made disrespectful remarks about state leaders during a live social media show.

Nguyen Thi Thanh Loan, also known as “Milona” on social media, was live streaming herself playing League of Legends when she remarked that state leaders are bald because they watch pornographic movies.

People who often watch 18+ movies tend to be a little bald. Perhaps as they don’t do a damned thing but watch 18+ movies at home all day, state presidents all go bald. Their [expletive] heads only have a few hairs left, right? Because they don’t do any [expletive] things but stay at home to watch 18+ movies.

Milona on her stream

The Vietnamese Cybersecurity Department has initiated an investigation to find Milona. The Hanoi Department of Information and Communications is also reviewing her statements.

Milona has nearly 250,000 Facebook fans. While she did not specify which state authorities she was referring to, her words were met with criticism from state media, which branded her actions as insults to Vietnam’s “high-ranking leaders.”

Most of the Vietnamese League Community, express their disappointment about her statement. They said the streamer’s actions should be condemned and severely punished to serve as an example to other influencers.
