Dcinside hosts the largest Korean T1 fan community, and said fans have not been happy with T1’s recent performance, especially that of coaches Choi ‘Polt’ Seong-hun and Kim ‘Moment’ Ji-hwan.
T1 currently are 2nd in LCK Summer Split behind GenG. They are 12-2 in series and 25-10 in games, dropping 2 series to GenG and Freecs. They most recently finished 2nd at MSI 2022 after losing to Chinese powerhouse RNG 2-3 in the finals. T1 also notably went 18-0 in LCK Spring before that, dropping only 1 game.
However, ‘only’ placing 2nd seems to be inadequate for Korean T1 fans. And they blame this inadequacy on the coaches’ incompetence. Their statement argued that Moment had not won Worlds and thus should be replaced by more competent ones who had lifted the trophy.
The irony is that back when Zefa, current DAMWON coach who had won Worlds as a player, was on T1, this same community relentlessly hated on him. Now they’re demanding a replacement that has his qualifications.
