T1, one of the most storied organizations in League of Legends, has taken a firm stand against a malicious YouTube channel spreading false narratives about the team and its players.
On the morning of 27 December, T1 announced that they’ve initiated legal action against a YouTube channel responsible for defamation and the dissemination of misinformation targeting their players.
“In October, we reviewed the case of action against a malicious YouTube channel that defamed a player and worked with a law firm to formulate a response plan, and recently succeeded in identifying the operator of the malicious YouTube channel.” – a T1 official shared.
“Based on this, we will continue to take legal action against the channel operators.”
T1’s Stand Against Malicious Behavior
The organization emphasized that their efforts aren’t stopping at this case alone. They’re closely tracking malicious comments directed at the team and its players across forums and social media platforms. Any actions that negatively affect their players will be met with decisive measures.
T1 is no stranger to dealing with community toxicity. The team regularly takes legal action against malicious comments, particularly in Korean online forums.
In fact, during the Summer Split, they pursued legal measures against individuals posting harmful remarks. The case is now under investigation by the Seocho Police Department in Seoul.
“The players’ position is that there is absolutely no agreement or precedent. We will respond without tolerance and will continue to work hard to protect our athletes.”
As one of the most prominent teams in the League of Legends scene, T1’s proactive approach demonstrates their commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for their players.
