T1 is known for their records breaking at both international and domestic tournament, and this MSI 2023 is no exception
At MSI 2023, T1 is shattering records as the LCK’s representative set the record for the second-fastest game in an international event in the match against MAD Lions.
The third game of the series between T1 and the LEC’s number-one seed MAD Lions at MSI 2023 was nothing short of thrilling. T1 ended the series with a victory in just roughly 17 minutes after collecting two overwhelming victories.
T1’s victory over MAD Lions is the second-fastest game in League of Legends history, clocking in just 16:50 minutes. T1 also holds the record for the fastest game in League of Legends international tournament, but with a loss. The record was set at MSI 2019 when Invictus Gaming beat T1 in 16:01 minutes.
Following this win, T1 advances to the next round of the tournament, where they will face Gen.G. On May 13, the LCK Spring finals will be rematched. G2 Esports and MAD Lions will compete in the loser’s bracket on the same day for the chance to stay.
After two days of competitors, the LCK representatives appear to be serious challengers for the crown. Because of MSI’s double-elimination system, a double LCK final remains possible.
Not only that, but Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, T1 midlaner, also became the first LoL players to play 200 international matches.
Faker is still in terrific shape after 10 years in the game and continues to set records. Faker also has two MSI titles under his belt and could add a third in 2023.
