Teamfight Tactics: Discover 100% Top 4 Dark Star Comp

Riot Games had removed completely the randomness from TeamfIght Tactics, turns this game’ meta into the place where the strongest team comps dominate others. In which Javan and Dark Star comp is an unstoppable force in patch 10.14. There’s even a gamer shares his recipes using 6 Dark Stars comp with 100% chance to reach top 4 at rank Master. Here is how:

First is some basic comps you can choose at level 7,8,9

Level 7 comp with 2 Protector Tankers Javan and Rakan

Level 7 comp with 2 Vanguard Tankers Morderkaiser and Wukong
An ideal level 8 comp with 3 carries Jhin, Shaco and Xerath ( Karma should stand next to who has the best item )
Level 8 comp has 2 Mystics with Shaco and Jhin as carry champions
Level 8 comp with Jhin is main carry and Javan is earlygame carry
Last is level 9 comp with all 6 Dark Stars on the field

So why is Dark Stars ?

In this current meta, Dark Stars is one of the top tier comps in Teamfight Tactics, if not the strongest one. This thank to Riot Games’ hands, they buffed 5 out of 6 Dark Stars units this patch except Xerath. The only reason Xerath didn’t receive buff from Riot is because this Sorcerer before patch 10.17 was one of the highest DPS dealers in the game.

Even when Dark Stars was not considered as top tier comp, the way this comp put together Javan, Karma and Xerath at lategame have always been dangerous for the others.

The mechanism of Dark Star is increasing power for others when one Dark Star died. Because of that, your priority should be the survival of the carry champion, they must be the last champion to stand to receive full buff from Dark Star trait. This can be guaranteed with Karma and Guardian Angel.

Let’s talk about Javan

Yes, right now Javan is a phenomenon in patch 10.14 but don’t let that deceive you and lead to wrong way of using Javan.

2 star Javan with Protector activation plus a Warmog’ Armor will surely carry your team til Terrabursters round, usually it helps you to maintain more than 75 health at round 4-1, sometime even holds win streak til round 4-3.

As stronge as Javan is, however he start to be stalled from midgame to lategame. This dosen’t mean he is weak, Javan is always stable with his 100%-200% attack speed buff, yet the differences between Javan 1 item and Javan 3 items is not significant. Javan in lategame is vaporised by Syndra or Jhin is normal story. If you concentrate items for Javan, your carry will be “starved”.

More on that, the differences between 2 Protectors and 4 Protectors is not much. If you use Dark Star comp then 6 Dark Stars plus 2 Protectors is strong enough for lategame, 4 Protectors is not necessary.

Pros

Strongest comp when all units are 2 star or more, guarantees top 2 if match the condition. ( but not when facing “broken” champions like Irelia, Syndra or Cassiopeia )

Use the full potential of Javan, the hottest champion in the meta from earlygame to lategame.

Flexible comp, using many different champions with many activations.

Cons

Picky comp because Infiltrators and Snipers are difficult champions to use in Teamfight Tactics require a lot of map reading.

Need to use many different champions in midgame therefore you need to choose champion wisely or you will get crushed easily.
