Did TFT roadmap intentionally reveal Cho’Gath VGU coming to League?

Will Cho’Gath receive his long-awaited VGU?

One of the ways League of Legends has remained popular is by introducing new champions on a regular basis. They not only introduce new champions, but they also choose for a VGU update for the old ones.

VGU, or Visual and Gameplay Update, is a champion update in which a champion gets a new kit and a visual update.

Riot Games presented a detailed road map with the Teamfight Tactics community on November 1st in their TFT Dev Drop video, explaining what the game’s future holds. Riot Games introduced their new TFT set 8: Monsters Attack! set in the video. However, with a brief glimpse of the set, the developers may have also unveiled the next League of Legends rework from Cho’Gath.

Cho’Gath potential VGU?

Normally, Riot would pick the default skin or another skin that suits the Set’s concept, but with Cho’Gath, the devs demonstrated a new and better version of the champion. The concept image was created in 2018 by a concept artist working at Riot Games.

Cho’Gath, debuted in 2009, is one of League of Legends’ oldest champions, hence his kit and design appear old in comparison to the newer champions. Because of how outdated Cho’Gath is, most people assumed he would get his VGU soon.

Riot also hinted at Caitlyn’s overhaul in their TFT video, and League and TFT run on the same engine, thus the League community was ecstatic about the potential rework.

Unfortunately, the artist, Taylor “Medaforcer” Jensen, responded to the speculation of the potential update by clarifying that, as far as he knows, Riot has no plans to use the concept art in the foreseeable future.

However, given this hint and the player demand, they may wind up redoing Cho’Gath after Skarner. We’re all hope that Medaforcer’s tweet is false and that we’ll soon see a brand-new top lane monster.
