The next fan-voted League VGU champion update and skin thematic will be unveiled next week

Which lucky champion will be chosen for this vote?

You’re lucky if you’ve been waiting for the Riot Games to announce the next League of Legends champion to get the full VGU. Ryan “Reav3” Mireles confirmed in the latest Ask Riot developer blog that next week the team will be showing off the winner of the player vote.

Back in September, Riot announced that another fan vote will be held to decide which champion would get a full VGU in 2021. But some “unexpected delays” prevented Riot from starting the project.

In response, in early January, Riot finally held a poll to decide on the next VGU champion after Dr. Mundo. And Shyvana, Nocturne, Udyr, Quinn, and Skarner were listed as potential candidates. Udyr, who was released in 2009, is the oldest champion on the roster. His kit is also probably the most archaic of the five options and has rarely been in the meta over the past few years.

In addition, the winner of the skin thematic fan vote will also be announced by Riot next week. One of those themes including Monster Tamers, Crime City Nightmare and Debonair 2.0 will be chosen as the next skin line to join the ever-growing cosmetic universes in the game.
