Players have suffered with strange hitboxes in League of Legends, and it is doubtful that it will ever be entirely solved. While Riot Games has worked hard to improve hitboxes, there will always be new situations when players are hit by skills that should have missed. Champions with potentially game-changing skill shots, like Nautilus, Thresh, and Blitzcrank, are heavily featured in these cases with their signature “hook”.
Nautilus Q hitbox through Walls
Nautilus is a champion that frequently encounters strange hitboxes. With his crowd control, Nautilus is effective at locking down targets and setting up his team for combats. As the hitbox on his Dredge Line (Q) may be highly variable, he sometimes receives a little too many benefits.
Hooking through walls and minions are one of the worst and common scenarios. There are also videos showing Nautilus hooking targets through Anivia’s Crystallize (W). While Riot is most certainly aware of the uneven hitbox on Dredge Line, fixing it does not appear to be a top priority for the team.
Blitzcrank and Thresh weird hooking hitboxes
Blitzcrank and Thresh are the two most popular champion with hook in all League of Legends. And of course, these 2 champions have also been plagued by strange hitboxes, which continue to occur in 2021.
While most players are undoubtedly pleased to strike an unexpected hook, if the hitbox is wrong, it can eventually affect the course of a game. One good hook with Blitzcrank or Thresh may result in a fast kill, and it might happen at a crucial moment in the game.
For years, the problem with Blitzcrank’s Rocket Grab (Q) and Thresh Death Sentence (Q) have been serious problems towards players.
When it comes to the hitbox, hook skill shots in League of Legends are clearly uneven. Yet the developer of the game still can’t figure out a way to counter this kind of event. We all hope that Riot would notice and fix this problem sooner or later.
