Timeline of Runeterra
The Origins – Where everything starts.
- Nothingness and Nagakabouros came to be. Nothingness is really just… nothing, but Nagakabouros is the god whom Illaoi worships.
- The Multiverse came to be. Multiverse contains both the main universe timeline as well as other connected timelines, such as those created by Ekko and Zilean. This concept is used by a lot of thematic skin universes such as “Blood Moon”, “Project”, “Star Guardian”, etc.
- The Void and the main League of Legends universe come to be. Nearly all the lores’re evolved base on this universe. Runeterra Prime consists of the Void and three realms of existence: Celestial, Spirit/Death and Physical are all located here.
- At that time, The Watchers, also known as the Frozen Watchers also came to be. These guys’re the main atagonists with the goal of ending every single life in every single universe.
- The time goes by until the first breath of creation.
- Aurelion Sol and Bard came to be, alongside many other cosmic entities. At that time, Aurelion Sol formed the first Stars.
- Soraka came to be – the creation of the first Celestial beings.
- Empire of Targon is founded. Targon Prime is a realm beyond Runeterra where all the Celestial beings known as Aspects and mythical creatures of the star live.
- Aurelion Sol created Runeterran Sun.
- Runeterra formed by the Aspects using World Runes.

The Formation
- Birth of magic on Runeterra. The surface becomes stable enough to support primitive life.
- Creation of the first spirits and demons on Runeterra: Fiddlesticks, Kindred, Maokai, Evelynn and Tahm Kench came to be.
- Fiddlesticks – The Ancient Fear: “It’s hunting us. It knows what we’re afraid of.” – unknow victim.
- Kindred – Eternal Hunters: Kindred represents the twin essences of death. Lamb’s bow offers a swift death from the mortal realm for those who accept their fate and the Wolf hunts down those who run from their end. “Tell me again, little Lamb, which things are ours to take?” Wolf – asked. “All things, dear Wolf” – Lamb answered.
- Maokai – Twisted Treant: He used to be a peaceful nature spirit, after the Magical Catalysm happened in his homeland, now he furious battles to banish the scourge of unlife from the Shadow Isles in order to restore his home to its former beauty. “All around me are empty husks, soulless and unafraid… but I will bring them fear” – Maokai.
- Evelynn – Agony’s Embrace: She searches for her next victim, lures in prey with her charms. Once a person is trapped, she unveils her true from, giving them unspeakable torment, satisfying herself with their pain. “What are you doing tonight? How about we get together and unlock that vast well of torment inside you?” – Evelynn.
- Tahm Kench – River King: The demon travels the waterways of Runeterra, feeding his insatiable appetite with the misery of others. His rumbling belly is to tumble into an abyss which there is little hope of return. “The whole word’s a river, and I’m its king.” – Tahm Kench.
- The emergence of the first plant and animal life.
- The creation of Terrestrial Dragons: there are over five types of elemental dragons, including: Cloud, Infernal, Mountain, Ocean and Elder Dragons.
- Creation of Yordles.
- They live in a mystical place known as Bandle City. Yordles built the threshold gateway system, gaining access to Runeterra.
- The formation of the northen continent of Valoran and the easten continent Ionian Archipelago. The formation of the Blessed Isles.
- Creation of the first Runetarran Civilizations beneath the Oceans and Seas such as Guardian’s Sea – The Swimming City, the place where Fizz dwelled.
- Firstborn came to be:
- Ornn, Anivia, Volibear, Iron Boar and Seal Sister came to be.
- Ornn – Fire Below the Mountain represents forging and craftmanship.
- Anivia – Cryophoenix endures endless cycle of life, death and rebirth to protect the Freljord.
- Volibear – Relentless Storm he fiercely protects Freljord with his tooth, claw and thundering domination.
- Ornn, Anivia, Volibear, Iron Boar and Seal Sister came to be.
- Ornn gave fire to Humans.
