Riot Games appears to be contemplating a potentially shift for Twisted Fate, hinting at the prospect of making him a hyper champion.
In League of Legends, where off-meta builds are met, this development could usher in a new era for Twisted Fate, introducing dynamics to his gameplay that might border on the formidable.
Insights from Riot Yelough, a champion designer for League of Legends, shed light on experimental critical-focused buffs currently in the testing phase on the PBE servers. These changes are subjected to create an unconventional build for him, one that has shown promise in the past.
The upcoming changes integrate critical strike scaling into almost every facet of Twisted Fate’s kit. However, the fate of these modifications, whether they remain unchanged or make it to the live servers, remains uncertain.
Key modifications in this experimental phase include bonus AD ratios for his Q and E abilities. Additionally, his E skill now boasts increased attack speed per rank and deals amplified damage to towers. A noteworthy transformation comes to Twisted Fate’s passive, allowing it to critically strike.
The crux of this shift lies in the critical-focused adjustments to Twisted Fate’s W ability. Each of his cards now boasts a scaling multiplier contingent on his critical strike percentage.
This particularly affects his blue card, a previously substantial source of damage, potentially amplifying its impact by up to 57.5% based on his crit rate. Notably, Twisted Fate’s W effects will now extend to inhibitors and the Nexus.
However, to maintain balance, there are compensatory tweaks, including a reduction in his base attack speed and attack speed growth. Despite these adjustments, the buffs to his E and the flexibility in itemization choices may render these reductions inconsequential.
With these buffs, even a marginal investment in critical strike chance through a single item can substantially reward Twisted Fate, potentially broadening the spectrum of viable item builds for the champion.
