New LoL champion revealed through LoL cosmetics
In League of Legends, a new emote has been leaked that might hint at the next champion to be released after Smolder. This new emote was found on the PBE servers and shows a character who appears to be taking notes. This look is unique and not seen in any other current champions in the game.
Because of this unique appearance, many players think that this is not just a new skin for an existing character, but a completely new one within LoL. The character in the emote is wearing a fuzzy hood and glasses, which suggests they might be some kind of researcher. This fits well with the recent champion roadmap from Riot Games, which mentioned a new solo laner from the Freljord region.
According to the roadmap, the new champion is a Vastayan, which means they are part-animal, similar to the likes of Xayah, Rakan, and Ahri. Although we don’t know the name of this new champion yet, this is the first time we’ve seen anything about them, and it has players very excited.
A well-known LoL Twitter account named Spideraxe mentioned that two new cosmetic items, called Hooded Figure and Helstrek, are part of a small event coming to the game called “The Spirit of Hearth Home.” This matches the idea that the new character is from the Freljord.
Riot’s roadmap also said that the new champion can “see what others think is not there” and that her “passion led her to travel, discover, and investigate across her home.” This could be why she is dressed like a traveler and why her glasses are an important part of the new summoner icon.
Since Smolder was released on January 31, 2024, it has been about 4 months without a new champion. This timing is perfect for Riot to start sharing more information about this new solo laner from the Freljord, getting players even more excited for what’s to come.
