Fans of League of Legends’ most played arcade mode may be happy to learn which event queue is joining the recently announced battle pass with the debut of the Worlds 2022 event recently. Yes, Ultra Rapid Fire (URF) has returned.
Not only is URF returned, but the mode is back in its original configuration as well: Pick URF. The event format has recently been of the ARURF sort, in which each pre-game lobby assigns players a random champion to play. Pick URF gets rid of that kink after a protracted absence. Players can select their preferred champions for each game, eliminating the need for random rolls.
URF is a chaotic, quick-paced variation of the League of Legends that you know and love for more inexperienced players who are unfamiliar with the mode. Each team receives a massive cannon near their base’s fountain for use in the game, which is played on Summoner’s Rift and allows players to launch as far as halfway up the map. With just two clicks, you may access your lane position thanks to this fantastic function.
Then follows the ultra-rapid fire, which is the true heart of URF. URF drastically reduces the cooldown for all of your champion’s abilities, enabling you to, for instance, quickly burn down your opponents at close range with Evelynn’s Hate Spikes or snipe them to death with Varus arrows.
Additionally, with their mana or energy pools set to infinite, every champion in URF gets to experience what it’s like to live like the Garens, Katarinas, and Tryndameres of the world. As a result, you not only get to spam your skills in quick succession, but you can do it indefinitely because none of your abilities have a cost.
Pick URF will begin with today’s Worlds 2022 update at 3pm CT and continue throughout the whole duration of the event, ending on Nov. 15 at 1:59am CT.
