2022 appears to be a successful year for Valorant.
VALORANT – Esports Game of the Year 2022
With 1.5 million viewers tuning in for the grand final of Valorant Champions 2022, Riot Games’ tactical FPS has officially won Esports Game of the Year, besting its popular MOBA game League of Legends.
Jaccob of Cloud9 says, “Yay!” Whiteaker triumphed against legends and veterans from League of Legends and CS:GO to win the Esports PC Player of the Year award.
When it was first released in June 2020, Valorant immediately became well-known as a 5v5 tactical shooter game that competed with CS:GO.
Its rapidly expanding esports sector, which now includes three international LAN tournaments in Reykjavik, Copenhagen, and Istanbul, has evolved by leaps and bounds in just two short years.
The game is ready to emulate League of Legends by adopting a league structure with three worldwide leagues and a total of 30 associated teams starting in 2019.
Overwatch superstars like Ha “Sayaplayer” Jung-woo and Lee “Carpe” Jae-hyeok are currently playing for T1, one of the partnered teams in the Pacific league, as it continues to draw some of the greatest names from other esports.
