Players will no longer be “VALORANT” rank in VALORANT.
Good news for VALORANT fans: Ranked mode is on its way— and also, a lot of changes are coming in Patch 1.02.
Today, Riot Games has just updated the community about the upcoming Competitive mode which slated to go live in Patch 1.02. The much-anticipated mode will also bring new rank iconography and a change to the contentious exclusive “VALORANT” rank title for top-tier players.
RANK ICONOGRAPHY
Fans have made many complaints about VALORANT’s ranked icons, which, followed them, are lacked of clarity and aesthetic appeal. Therefore, Riot made some tweaks to the iconography before the launch of the upcoming competitive season, especially in emphasizing colors so fans can tell the difference between these ranks so much easier. The Gold rank, for example, now has a brighter assortment of yellow and orange hues.
Moreover, elite players will no longer be called as “VALORANT”, instead, swapped out to a less confusing title: “Radiant”.
VALORANT Surrender Option to Debut in Patch 1.02
“Additionally, although we still really like having our top rank be something unique to our game and aligned with our IP, we’ve decided to remove VALORANT as the name of our top rank to help reduce potential confusion of the game vs the rank,” According to Riot.
If Riot releases Patch 1.02 in its typical schedule, it will be very likely that ranked will be lived on Wednesday or later.
