Mythic Skins in League will become even rarer since Riot aims to change the way to get them
Riot revealed earlier this year a thorough redesign of their rarest skin tiers – Mythic, Prestige, Hextech, and several more skins that can be obtained with gemstones. Riot also announced the removal of the Hextech skin collection and the introduction of new yearly thematics for Mythic Essence skins. The theme for season 2022 is Ashen Knight, and the first champion to receive the skin line will be Ashen Knight Pyke.
Prestige edition skins and gemstone skins will be removed from loot boxes and rerolled as part of the huge content update
You may now obtain all prior Prestige Edition skins for 100 Prestige points, and all of the gemstone skins for a total of 10 gemstones. However, Patch 12.5 will be the final patch for you to do so, since Riot will finally delete all Prestige and Gemstone skins in Patch 12.6, which is set to go live on March 30.
Following that, all of these skins will be placed in a ‘vault,’ similar to the legacy vault, indicating that they will no longer be available. To compensate for this, Riot has stated that you can get them in the future using Mythic Essence.
Mythic Shop will take the place of the previous Gemstone Shop. Riot will also unvault two old Prestige skins and two Gemstone skins in the new shop, which will cycle after a specific period of time. The gemstone skins will cycle every three months, while the other will change every month.
